I have an addiction...
To one of THIS!
YUMMY
Haha.. And I don't even know what it is actually... What I do know is that it is some Japan product that my mum brought home recently, and she claims that it can only be found in the "land of the rising sun". On the package is a picture of a squid, thus I presume that its some sort of Fried Squid biscuit thing, that has a zesty Wasabi aftertaste to it. Although I kinda hate Wasabi, I can still bear with this delicacy as it is kind of light and salty. I have NO idea what to do once my resource runs out of it.. Perhaps its one of those things that you can only get to enjoy once in your life... MMMmmmm....
I recently caught quite alot of movies ever since I subscribed to an online DVD rental service.. Movies including Underworld : Evolution, which is currently running in the cinemas. However, the highlights of my Movie Marathon are presumbly "Donnie Darko" and "Crying Out Love, In The Center Of The World".
The following are some of my reviews for the four movies I watched :
Donnie Darko
Sypnosis ( Copied from RottenTomatoes.com, teehee ) :
October 2nd, 1988: just another ordinary day in Donnie Darko’s teen-aged existence. He’s taken his medication, watched Dukakis and Bush debate, and had dinner with the family. Then comes an outrageous accident. Out of the blue, a 2,000 pound jet engine plummets from the sky and crashes into Donnie’s bedroom, obliterating it. Luckily, Donnie isn’t in bed. Or is it luck? As Donnie begins to explore what it means to still be alive, and in short order to be in love, he uncovers secrets of the universe that give him a tempting power to alter time and destiny.
Personal Comments (Posible Spoilers ahead) :
I caught this movie about two days ago, and even though I have given the movie alot of thought afterwards, I am still not really able to grasp everything the movie has to offer. It is said that one must watch the movie at least two times to catch certain underlying plotpoints in the movie.. Maybe I will do so when I have the time in the future..
Ultimately the movie is about self-sacrifice, at least to me anyway. In order to prevent a chain of events from happening to everyone around the character Donnie, he has to travel back in time to die in a certain freak accident. In other words, he was actually meant to perish when a airplane mechanism fell out of nowwhere and into his room.
Sounds cheem eh.. The movie is pretty wierd and will make your head spin due to all the "What ifs" the movie poses into your head. With a deep story as well as a stellar cast, including the likes of Drew Barrymore and Jake Gyllenhaal, the movie remains a cult hit ever since its debut in 2001.
Watch it if you crave for something out of the ordinary.

Crying Out Love, In The Center Of The World
Personal Comments (Possible Spoilers Ahead) :
Man, is this one of the saddest shows I have watched or what. You will actually know of the lead actress' phlight halfway through the movie, yet it does not prepare you for the onslaught that is going to follow towards the end. You will feel your heart tear like a penknife to paper, and you will be totally devoid of any tears and tissues, cept for those already used ones which are soaked full of fluids...
The movie is espescially sad, given that the two lovebirds are being twarted by Leukemia. Yeah, I know that diseases are often overused and appear as cliches nowadays, but still it doesnt hurt to see another one, since the topic is being handled quite tastefully here too. The wonderful story is backed up by terrific performances from the three key characters in the story. I have to give lots of credit to Nagasawa Masami who played the deceased character Aki with so much heart and soul in the movie. Her character really brightens up the story, plus it does not hurt to say that shes very "CHIO" too...
Pretty hor..
There is a twist that the story will unveil towards the end, which links up all the characters and brings a closure to the entire saga. The final scene is full of sorrow, as the ashes of Aki is being scattered into the outbacks of Australia, a place which she defined as her "centre of the world", hence the title for the movie.
If you have a penchant for tragic love stories, you mustn't miss this show for the world.

Underworld : Evolution
Personal Comments : Hmm.. I don't even dare to try explaining the story over here, as its pretty heavyhanded and very convoluted. For those who have not seen the first part, please do update yourself on the story first before watching it as this movie picks off right where part one ended. I have read seamless amount of very bad reviews for the story, therefore my expectations of the movie couldn't be any lower when I watched it. This might explain why I was kind of surprised that I actually enjoyed the movie to some extent. There were plenty of gore and action, but that's just all there is for the movie. There were some pretty unnesscary love scenes in the movie, as they kinda rushed into them, hence there wasn't any chemistry at all.
If you are a fan of action movies but does not care too much for the plot, you might want to give this show a chance, for the sake of watching Kate Beckinsale in a tight leather outfit.
Rating : 2.5/5

Exorcism Of Emily Rose
Personal Comments : This would be the second time I have watched this, the first being in the cinemas when it was still airing, the second being a few nights ago on dvd with my family. Although the scare tactics didnt work for me this time around, the story still managed to reel me in. This is no ordinary horror movie, so do not get fooled into believing that its another typical pointless ghost story, made to scare your money off your wallet. Instead it approaches the genre in a different view, of Science VS Faith, of Logic Vs Possibilities. This is ultimately a courtcase battle, one in which the defendant is Father Moore, accused of abusing a girl put under his care when she was allegedly possessed by demons.
After watching the movie, you are bound to question the credibility of this movie, and the existence of demons among us. Like the movie states, logic leaves no space for possibilites, hence are we all to believe that it is NOT possible that devils and demons walk the earth?
