38.7...

Nope, thats not another new Radio Channel.. Nor is it the size of my waist, nor the length of my.. Eh.. Think I better stop there. =X

38.7 is actually the value of my temperature that was taken just five minutes ago.. And I was thinking to myself aloud earlier that the weather is surprisingly warm today, who knew I was the only one feeling this hot.. Thank goodness for the leave I took from camp tommorow, I must say I sure have good foresight man.. Hehe..

Anyway, I know I have been missing from blogging-action since last sunday, before I got posted into my new unit at TAD. The fact is, my morale has been at a new low all week, I was so bloody tired from having to sit at the same sofa in the crew room for the entire five days for 8hours per day, having nothing better to do other than to watch the flies zoom around my head. You wouldn't believe how many flies I saw over at TAD, its like they multiplies in the thousands every single day.. Damn irritating, just imagine having one land on your nose whilst you are asleep.. The word "Gross" wouldn't do it any justice at all..

Anyway, the week was realy horrible, even though I had worse days when I was over at M1 HQ building for my poly attachment. NOTHING can ever beat THAT.. Alas, the previous five days that I had werent a walk in the park either. I had no friends, no real company other than the irritating bugs throughtout the week. The food was terrible, some of the people looked very stuckup, and mostly I hated the 45mins long journey. The trip actually ate up $4+ for one day's trip man!! As if I am not poor enough..

To summarise the entire week : " Glad its over and done with!"

Haha.. After reading my rantings above, you must be thinking that Law's life is no better than a loaf of expired bread, unwanted and rotting away slowly.. Well, this is where you are WRONG! So wrong that no amount of deeds can do any right..

Today is the only day that I had eagerly anticipated for, mainly due to the fact that it is the weekend, but also because that I will finally have garnered enough cash to buy myself a brand new MP3 player! In between the free time I had at home for the past two weeks, I had been furiously selling off some redundant stuff in my room to others who are looking for a cheap deal. The response was overwhelming, almost 80percent of my goods were snatched up within an hour! Perhaps I should have revised my pricing a little more.. Hmm...

Anyway, what's done is done. I finally am able to cross off one more item from my wanted list today because I found a really good buy earlier this moring and I hungrily gobbled it up. Now the White Zen Vision : M player from Creative is happily sitting on my table, all charged up with tons of songs and videos and ready to go! Now I can happily watch my porno videos whereever I need to, in the comfort of any secluded area.. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

This is my life-support on the train man..

Thank god for technology.. Whatever will I do without it... Other than the fact that I would have saved myself $430 bucks today?

Nah.. Its all worth it.. =)

Bree Osbourne and a little game called "Final Fantasy"...

This poster cracks me up everytime I looked at it.. Haha.. Pure genius!

Today, I finally made my way down to Cathay Orchard to catch "Transamerica". I was pleasantly surprised that the personnel at the ticket counter did NOT ask for any identification since the movie was R21 standards... This must be due to two reasons; I must have looked pretty hagard for a 20+ yr old , or she was just plain lazy. I would prefer the latter though.. (0o.)

Anyway, back to the REAL discussion here.. The movie's premise was simple enough; it was about Bree Osbourne, played by the wonderful Felicity Huffman of Desperate Housewives, who was about to have his operation in a week's time, that would finally render his transformation into a full-fleged, biological-unrecognisable woman complete.

However, just as "she" was given the go-ahead from "her" Psychiatrist, something took her world by storm. A new revelation in her life was about to occur, as a phonecall reveals that "she" has a son, conceived with another girl who had only recently, killed herself. "Her" son is now trapped in jail, awaiting his father to come bail him out.

Reluctantly, "her" Psychiatrist held back her decsion to let Bree go on her operation, as she senses that Bree wasn't ready for her biggest decision yet. Hence, Bree is trapped with the task of settling "her" son down before she could continue with her destiny.

Without giving too much away, I will just summarise the show as both touching and heartbreaking. Sure, there were plenty of comedic events, as well as a slew of really funny quotes from the movie, but it was also really sad, but really REAL and humane. There were also so much taboo being discussed in the mere 103 mins, that your eyes might disappear from all that squirming. However, Felicity's character Bree in this movie is the highlight of the movie really. She pratically melts into her character and her performance is always spot-on, you would have never guessed it was her under all that makeup.. Brillant acting all the way!

After giving it plenty of thought, I decided to give it a rating of 4, because I couldn't stop smiling as I recall the events that took place back at Bree's home with "her" parents. "Her" mother was a hoot, and the way Bree relates about them to "her" son is simply hilarious!

The following are some of the most memorable quotes from the movie :

Murray: Your mother and I both love you.
Elizabeth Osbourne: But we don't respect you!

Toby: Your parent's house is a lot nicer.
Bree Osbourne: My parent's house comes with my parents.

Toby: Beauty is relative.
Bree Osbourne: Not my relatives.

Elizabeth Osbourne: Look at your life. You've never been able to stick to a decision. I mean, 10 years of college and not a single degree. How do you know you won't change your mind about this, too?
[brief pause]
Bree Osbourne: Because I know.
Elizabeth Osbourne: Don't do this awful thing to yourself, please. I miss my son.
Bree Osbourne: Mom, you never had a son.
Elizabeth Osbourne: [crying] How can you say such a thing?
Bree Osbourne: Now you know how I felt when you hired those private detectives.
Elizabeth Osbourne: [crying] We only tried to do the best for you.
Bree Osbourne: Is that why you tried to have me committed?
Elizabeth Osbourne: [shouting] You tried to kill yourself!
Bree Osbourne: Because you tried to have me committed!
Elizabeth Osbourne: I don't know why you have to be so emotional.
Bree Osbourne: [shouting] I am not emotional!
[normally]
Bree Osbourne: God, my cycle's all out of whack.
Elizabeth Osbourne: You don't have cycles!
Bree Osbourne: Hormones are hormones. Yours and mine just happen to come in purple little pills.

Dr. Spikowsky: How do you feel about your penis?
Bree Osbourne: It disgusts me. I don't even like looking at it.
Dr. Spikowsky: And how about your friends?
Bree Osbourne: They don't like it either.

Transamerica wasn't the only good thing that happened to me today; Final Fantasy 12 finally hits local stores, and I managed to get myself a "friendlier" copy, if you get what I mean. Couldn't stop drooling on the train ride home, as this was THE game that I had been anticipating ever since years ago when it was announced. Finally, a real game with a real plot that I could sink my teeth into.. Alas, if only it wasn't in Japanese... Sigh..

"One more night I Spend... To keep me, Thinking of you... "

Tonight will be the last night before the last day of my Ammo Course... Tml the debriefing will commence, signalling the end of the road for us trainees. No more classes... No more "fresh" cookhouse food... No more monkeys... No more bugs-squashing friends...

Crap! I am ranting AGAIN.

Just caught another movie, titled Anchorman : The Legend of.. Eh.. Forgotten the latter part of the title.. It stars Anyway the movie was chocked full of tasteless jokes, only a few of them made me chuckle out loud throughout the entire 90 mins.

The amazing thing about the DVD was, there was this whole lot of deleted scenes stored in the Special Features section, and most of them actually deserved to be retained in the original movie since they were FUNNIER than most of the jokes that were being screened. How strange is that?

Anyway, my score for the movie is only 2. Most of the jokes were really lame, and they all seemed to point to something either sexual or pointless. The only drawpoint about the movie comes from the astounding amount of guest appearances by stars such as Ben Stiller. Catch this movie only if you are truly desperate for some cheap laughs...

Crap! I have no idea what to write anymore.. Been thinking alot about MP3 players and going overseas for a well-deserved holiday.. Korea was the place we sort of discussed about, but I have always wanted to go to more westernised regions, like New York for example..

* This post is ended abruptly due to pure laziness on the writer's part. *

Baa....

Its one of those days again.. When I am totally clueless about what to write, yet this urge to type just keeps on bugging me.. Perhaps if I just keep on typing, something will be bound to come my way...

This is the last week of my Ammo Tech Course, and soon I will be a Ammo Tech Trainee no longer. Today, as I see my friends hop off the bus one by one, flashes of a scene equal to this one appeared in my mind, and I could remember them saying " See you NEXT year!" to me. That was about three months back, in 2005, right before the end. Gosh, time must have bought itself a rocket or something, cause it flew by me so fast that I didn't even had time to blink.

I feel strange though, at the fact that I was feeling abit sad about leaving and all. I know for sure that I do not miss the place, neither do I miss the god-awful food, nor the mountains of exams that I had to face. It was my friends that I missed the most, the same gang of people who first appeared to me as aliens on the first day of my course. Somehow, whenever I hang out around them, they make me feel like myself again. I was able to revive my humourous side after so long; the last time I cracked as much jokes was when I was still studying in Poly.

I know parting will be inevitable, therefore I must cherish every last moment while they lasts. Good friends are hard to come by, especially ones that you can blend in with so well. Will I go back into my shell again and hide once I get posted to my new unit? That I do not dare say..

But one thing is for sure...

I have found my topic for today's post afterall... =)

The "Good" Girl

It seems that I have a knack for watching depressing movies nowadays.. Be them Brokeback, Crying Out Love In The Center Of The World, or Donnie Darko.. None of these movies have a happy resolution to the characters portrayed in the story.

Thus, I decided to lighten up the mood today by popping a show into my dvd player that appeared in my mailbox just a day before. Well, any show that stars Jennifer Aniston from Friends surely must be a laugh-a-sec comedy right? And with a title called "The Good Girl", it must sure have a whole lot of goodness in it... Right?

Well.. GUESS AGAIN. I was DEAD wrong. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Initially, Jennifer plays Justine, a 30yr old woman married to a booze-guzzling fat guy who literally paints houses in the day as a livelihood, and then "stones" on his couch with his loser friend at night. Justine works as a makeup consultor at a certain Retail Rodeo department store, giving free makeovers to passerbys who has absolutely no interests in buying anything from her.

Her life was pretty mundane, until the day a guy, who was even more depressed than herself, turns up to work at the same department store as her. Almost immediately, she senses a connection with this Holden (Tom is his real name actually), and begins an secret affair with him. What she didn't know is, her life will soon be turned upside-down by this mistake, and tragedy soon follows. Lets just say that things didn't go well at all for them, as guilt and paranoia soon took over Justine.

The movie is executed very well, and Jennifer delivers her most intriguing performance yet. The movie exudes a fresh sense of reality, you can't help but wince at some of the horrid actions she does in the show, and yet it makes you wonder if put in her shoes, will you do the same thing?

Overall, I give it a 3.5, for successfully making me depressed all over again.. Even so, I still feel that it is shows like these that makes going to the movies worthwhile. Movies that make you think and ponder long after the credits have began rolling are the true gems in cinematic moments. I have had enough of mind-blowing action heroes that can jump into burning infernos, and yet come out with perfect hair and makeup.

Sigh, still waiting for a chance to go catch Transamerica at Cathay orchard, have been looking forward to it for quite some time already..

I have an addiction...

To one of THIS!

YUMMY

Haha.. And I don't even know what it is actually... What I do know is that it is some Japan product that my mum brought home recently, and she claims that it can only be found in the "land of the rising sun". On the package is a picture of a squid, thus I presume that its some sort of Fried Squid biscuit thing, that has a zesty Wasabi aftertaste to it. Although I kinda hate Wasabi, I can still bear with this delicacy as it is kind of light and salty. I have NO idea what to do once my resource runs out of it.. Perhaps its one of those things that you can only get to enjoy once in your life... MMMmmmm....

I recently caught quite alot of movies ever since I subscribed to an online DVD rental service.. Movies including Underworld : Evolution, which is currently running in the cinemas. However, the highlights of my Movie Marathon are presumbly "Donnie Darko" and "Crying Out Love, In The Center Of The World".

The following are some of my reviews for the four movies I watched :

Donnie Darko

Sypnosis ( Copied from RottenTomatoes.com, teehee ) :

October 2nd, 1988: just another ordinary day in Donnie Darko’s teen-aged existence. He’s taken his medication, watched Dukakis and Bush debate, and had dinner with the family. Then comes an outrageous accident. Out of the blue, a 2,000 pound jet engine plummets from the sky and crashes into Donnie’s bedroom, obliterating it. Luckily, Donnie isn’t in bed. Or is it luck? As Donnie begins to explore what it means to still be alive, and in short order to be in love, he uncovers secrets of the universe that give him a tempting power to alter time and destiny.

Personal Comments (Posible Spoilers ahead) :

I caught this movie about two days ago, and even though I have given the movie alot of thought afterwards, I am still not really able to grasp everything the movie has to offer. It is said that one must watch the movie at least two times to catch certain underlying plotpoints in the movie.. Maybe I will do so when I have the time in the future..
Ultimately the movie is about self-sacrifice, at least to me anyway. In order to prevent a chain of events from happening to everyone around the character Donnie, he has to travel back in time to die in a certain freak accident. In other words, he was actually meant to perish when a airplane mechanism fell out of nowwhere and into his room.
Sounds cheem eh.. The movie is pretty wierd and will make your head spin due to all the "What ifs" the movie poses into your head. With a deep story as well as a stellar cast, including the likes of Drew Barrymore and Jake Gyllenhaal, the movie remains a cult hit ever since its debut in 2001.

Watch it if you crave for something out of the ordinary.

Crying Out Love, In The Center Of The World

Personal Comments (Possible Spoilers Ahead) :

Man, is this one of the saddest shows I have watched or what. You will actually know of the lead actress' phlight halfway through the movie, yet it does not prepare you for the onslaught that is going to follow towards the end. You will feel your heart tear like a penknife to paper, and you will be totally devoid of any tears and tissues, cept for those already used ones which are soaked full of fluids...

The movie is espescially sad, given that the two lovebirds are being twarted by Leukemia. Yeah, I know that diseases are often overused and appear as cliches nowadays, but still it doesnt hurt to see another one, since the topic is being handled quite tastefully here too. The wonderful story is backed up by terrific performances from the three key characters in the story. I have to give lots of credit to Nagasawa Masami who played the deceased character Aki with so much heart and soul in the movie. Her character really brightens up the story, plus it does not hurt to say that shes very "CHIO" too...

Pretty hor..

There is a twist that the story will unveil towards the end, which links up all the characters and brings a closure to the entire saga. The final scene is full of sorrow, as the ashes of Aki is being scattered into the outbacks of Australia, a place which she defined as her "centre of the world", hence the title for the movie.

If you have a penchant for tragic love stories, you mustn't miss this show for the world.

-------------------------------------------------------

Underworld : Evolution

Personal Comments : Hmm.. I don't even dare to try explaining the story over here, as its pretty heavyhanded and very convoluted. For those who have not seen the first part, please do update yourself on the story first before watching it as this movie picks off right where part one ended. I have read seamless amount of very bad reviews for the story, therefore my expectations of the movie couldn't be any lower when I watched it. This might explain why I was kind of surprised that I actually enjoyed the movie to some extent. There were plenty of gore and action, but that's just all there is for the movie. There were some pretty unnesscary love scenes in the movie, as they kinda rushed into them, hence there wasn't any chemistry at all.

If you are a fan of action movies but does not care too much for the plot, you might want to give this show a chance, for the sake of watching Kate Beckinsale in a tight leather outfit.

Rating : 2.5/5

-------------------------------------------------------------

Exorcism Of Emily Rose

Personal Comments : This would be the second time I have watched this, the first being in the cinemas when it was still airing, the second being a few nights ago on dvd with my family. Although the scare tactics didnt work for me this time around, the story still managed to reel me in. This is no ordinary horror movie, so do not get fooled into believing that its another typical pointless ghost story, made to scare your money off your wallet. Instead it approaches the genre in a different view, of Science VS Faith, of Logic Vs Possibilities. This is ultimately a courtcase battle, one in which the defendant is Father Moore, accused of abusing a girl put under his care when she was allegedly possessed by demons.

After watching the movie, you are bound to question the credibility of this movie, and the existence of demons among us. Like the movie states, logic leaves no space for possibilites, hence are we all to believe that it is NOT possible that devils and demons walk the earth?

Crap...

Thats how I feel like right now...

My rooms is in a mess... So is my life. I don't know what to do right now, have no "right" answer, no "right" solutions to solve my problem. Should I give her up? Should I give up our 2yr commitment? Does the mistake outweigh the happiness we once had?

I'm like holding back my emotions right now, espescially the urge to break down and cry in the morning. Perhaps Time will show me the right answers that I need. All I have left now is Time anyway... =(

Feeling Blue.. Like a blueberry..

"I don't want to say goodbye
Let the stars shine through.
I don't want to say goodbye
All I want to do is live with you.

Just like the light of the morning
After the darkness has gone
The shadow of my love is falling
On a place where the sun always shown.

Don't you know that's where our hearts both belong?

'Cause I don't want to say goodbye.
Let the stars shine through.
No, I don't want to say goodbye
All I want to do is live with you.

Together our two hearts are strong
Don't you know know that's where our hearts both belong?

'Cause I don't want to say goodbye
Let the stars shine through.
I don't want to say goodbye
All I want to do is live with you
All I want to do is live with you"

Fallen for....? NAH....

Sighz.. why am I feeling this way… What familiar symptoms these are… Heart Beat racing… Throat Dry… Mind’s preoccupied with thoughts… Never felt this way for more than 2 years already… Feels so wrong, but so tempting nonetheless… Sinner, I have become.. =X

On 2nd thoughts, maybe I am being silly... I doubt this will work out anyway, so I might as well give up on the whole notion and go back to my simple life... Though it was nice to feel this way again after so long, the sweetness of something blossoming... Only to become nothing at all...

I AM talking crap again aren't I? So confused right now... =X
